
19th South African Masters Swimming Championships
held at the Kings Park pool in Durban in
the province of KwaZulu-Natal
from the 27th to the 29th of March 2003
438 Swimmers entered of whom
32 were foreign swimmers from Cameroon, USA, Dubai, Swaziland, Great Britain, &
Zimbabwe. 400 Swimmers competed.
There were 9 swimmers entered who were 80 years and older.
The oldest female swimmer was Nerina McAll 86.
The oldest male swimmer was George May 88.
290 Relay teams were entered.
35 South African Individual Records were broken
plus
2 Inaugural South African Individual Records were
established
plus
9 South African Relay Records were broken.
In addition
8 Second place finishers also bettered the
previous SA Record.

5 SA Record times were bettered by foreign swimmers.
South African Masters Swimming
Colours qualifying times were bettered 78 times during the championships
and 35 swimmers who qualified during the year were awarded their Colours.
13 People were awarded 10 year or 15 year attendance awards.
